The 2026 season of the World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC) Ghana has officially been launched in Accra, setting the stage for what organisers describe as a major convergence of corporate networking and competitive golf ahead of the National Final in July.

The launch, held during a high-level media briefing, confirmed that the National Final of the tournament will take place on July 10, 2026, at the Achimota Golf Club, where Ghana’s leading corporate golfers will compete for the opportunity to represent the country at the global finals in Beijing, China.

The World Corporate Golf Challenge is recognised internationally as one of the largest corporate golf tournaments, bringing together business executives, entrepreneurs and industry leaders from sectors including finance, telecommunications, energy and technology.

The winning team from Ghana’s national competition will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the WCGC World Finals, where they will compete against corporate golf champions from more than 30 countries.

Organisers say the tournament continues to position golf as a strategic platform for business engagement, relationship building and high-level networking among corporate leaders.

Speaking at the launch, Executive Partner of WCGC Ghana, Catherine Fabbi, described golf as a powerful tool for strengthening business relationships and fostering long-term partnerships.

“Golf is far more than a recreational pastime; it is a high-yield strategic asset. Over an 18-hole round, conversations flow naturally, long-term relationships are forged, and major business deals are conceptualized,” she said.

Beyond the competition itself, organisers stressed that the 2026 edition would also prioritise inclusivity and development within the sport, particularly efforts to increase female participation in corporate golf.

Ms Fabbi, who also serves as National Ladies Coordinator for the Ghana Golf Association, reaffirmed the commitment to expanding opportunities for women within Ghana’s golfing ecosystem.

Several corporate entities have already signed on as partners and sponsors for the tournament, including Boab Engineering Services Limited, Landers Oil and Gas, Raju Ghana Ltd, Black Star Group, Office Bureau, Ghandour Cosmetics Ltd, Balfour Beatty, Levotude Ltd and Micasso Tiles.

Metro TV has also been confirmed as the headline media partner for the 2026 season.

Representatives of sponsoring organisations highlighted the growing importance of golf as a business development tool capable of creating commercial opportunities while enhancing brand visibility.

Corporate registration for the tournament has officially opened, with businesses being encouraged to register executive two-man teams early due to anticipated high demand for participation slots.

The launch event attracted executives of the Achimota Golf Club, corporate partners, golfers from various clubs and stakeholders within Ghana’s golfing community, signalling growing interest in the role of corporate sport in strengthening professional and business relationships.
