Beverly Afaglo died after two-year battle with cancer

Late Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Beverly Afaglo died after a two-year battle with cancer, her manager, Abu Iddris, has disclosed.

Speaking in an interview with Ghana Weekend on Sunday, May 24, Iddris revealed that the actress died on Saturday night at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema.

“She’s been battling cancer for two years. It’s been a relentless war. She really fought hard, and this is where it ended,” he said.

According to him, the cancer started as breast cancer but later spread due to its genetic nature.

Beverly’s death was announced by her husband, musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster or Praye Ho Ne Ho of the Praye music group, in a social media post on Sunday, May 24, 2026. She was 42 years old.

Iddris disclosed that despite her deteriorating condition, Beverly remained committed to her career and family, even while undergoing treatment.

“In fact, we shot things for her while she was undergoing treatment. The premieres, the promotions, she was undergoing treatment. She lived while doing her very best until the cancer really overtook her,” he stated.

He further revealed that Beverly had travelled to the United States for treatment and was advised to remain there because of the advanced medical care available, but she chose to return to Ghana to spend time with her children.

“She chose to come be with her kids, knowing the situation. This is the kind of person she is. She chose to come see her kids and spend the last days with them at a cost,” he added.

The family is yet to announce funeral arrangements as they continue to mourn her passing.
