The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) has been honoured with the “Most Disciplined Road Safety Agency of the Year 2025 Award” by the African Emerging Leadership, Research and Development Organization (AELRDO) in recognition of the agency’s commitment to discipline, ethical conduct, road safety, and traffic management.
The award was presented by the Country Representative of AELRDO, Dr. Rhuefe Khaese, to the most senior TRACE Commander overseeing the day-to-day administration and operational duties of the agency, Cmdr. Elias Omonayajo.
Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Khaese commended TRACE operatives for their dedication, steadfastness, and professionalism, noting that the level of discipline displayed by the agency stands out among traffic management organisations in the country.
He also praised the agency’s efforts in promoting road safety ethics, public enlightenment, and sensitisation programmes for motorists and other road users across Ogun State, despite operational challenges confronting the agency.
Dr. Khaese, however, urged TRACE officials to continue to uphold professionalism by shunning extortion and overbearing conduct in the discharge of their duties. He advised operatives to maintain friendliness, warmth, and decorum in their interactions with members of the public, particularly motorists.
Responding on behalf of the agency, Cmdr. Omonayajo expressed appreciation to AELRDO for finding TRACE worthy of the honour, describing the recognition as a motivation for operatives to remain committed to the agency’s mission and vision of effective service delivery.
According to him, the award would further inspire personnel to rededicate themselves to the core values and ideals of the organisation in ensuring improved traffic management and road safety enforcement across the state.
The latest recognition marks the second time in five years that TRACE has received an award of distinction from AELRDO for exemplary service delivery and adherence to ethical standards in the discharge of its responsibilities.
