Azam TV is a direct-to-home (DTH) satellite pay-TV service operating in Kenya and several other East African countries.

Owned by Tanzania’s Bakhresa Group, it launched in Kenya around 2014 as an affordable alternative to pricier options like DStv.

Broadcasting via satellite with Nagravision encryption, Azam TV delivers dozens to over 180 channels covering sports, movies, entertainment, kids’ programming, news, and documentaries in HD.

Many users appreciate its lower entry cost and family-friendly mix of local and international content compared to competitors.

Current Kit Costs (as of late April 2026)

Promotions vary by dealer and location, but recent offers across Azam TV Kenya’s channels and retailer listings show;

* Full Kit (decoder + dish + basic accessories, often with free installation or 1 month free viewing): Ksh2,500. Some promotions list decoder-only at KSh Ksh1,000.
* Higher-end or older quotes (including full installation) can reach Ksh3,500–Ksh5,000 or more, depending on the dealer and any extras. Prices fluctuate, so check local agents or the official site for the latest.

Subscribers activate and top up via M-Pesa Paybill 827190 or by dialing *309#.

Monthly Subscription Packages 2026

Azam TV offers tiered packages with varying channel counts. The following are its packages in Kenya in 2026:

  • Azam Lite: 80+ channels for Ksh400 per month. Entry-level option with basic entertainment, news, and local content.
  • Azam Pure: 85+ channels for Ksh600 per month.
  • Azam Plus: 95+ channels for Ksh950 per month.
  • Azam Play (premium): 130+ channels for Ksh1,500 per month. This top tier unlocks the fullest range, including more international news from CNN, BBC and Al Jazeera, sports, movies, kids’ channels, and documentaries.

Add-on packages for specific genres, e.g., extra sports or movies, are also available.

Azam TV has gained traction among Kenyan households seeking cost-effective access to both local content and international programming without the higher fees associated with larger operators.

It appeals to households seeking decent variety without premium pricing.
