Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has opened up on a funny but emotional moment with her son, Jamil Balogun, about her love life.

Naija News reports that she shared the story during a recent media chat while talking about a casual argument she had with a friend over who looks better between British rapper Skepta and actor Aaron Pierre. The singer said she was going through pictures on social media, trying to convince her friend that Skepta looked good.

While she was showing the photos, her son noticed and asked what she was doing. She replied jokingly that she was showing her “baby daddy.” Her response quickly caught his attention.

Jamil immediately reacted and told her that she should not have a baby daddy. He insisted that she deserves to have a husband instead. His response surprised her, and she questioned why he felt that way, but he stood by his statement, making it clear he wants her to settle down properly.

She said: “You remember the collaboration thing with Skepta? So, literally, we were talking about him and the whole Aaron Pierre thing. So, I was just like showing… so she was saying to me she doesn’t think Skepta is fine; she thinks Aaron is finer. I was going mad! I was going through his Instagram, and I was showing her like, ‘What about this one?’”

“And then Jamil goes, and he’s like, ‘What’s that? What are you showing her?’ Then I said, ‘My baby daddy,’ and then my son was like, ‘You are not going to have a baby daddy.’ And I am like, ‘Why would you say that?’ He said, ‘Because you deserve a husband.’” She explained.

Jamil is the only child from her past marriage to Tunji Balogun, also known as TeeBillz. The couple got married in 2013 in a high-profile ceremony that drew wide attention across the Nigerian entertainment space.

Their marriage later ran into serious issues, which became public and eventually led to their separation in 2016. Despite the split, both parents have continued to work together in raising their son.
