World Vision Ghana is set to launch its National Strategy for 2026–2030, a comprehensive five year roadmap aimed at transforming the lives of 2.8 million vulnerable children across the country.

The strategy, themed: “HOPE for Every Child – Harnessing Opportunities for the Protection and Empowerment of Every Child,” marks a significant milestone in World Vision Ghana’s journey since it began operations in the country over 40 years ago, setting a clear direction for the organisation’s contribution to child wellbeing in the next phase of its work.

The launch slated for April 15, 2026 is expected to bring together representatives from government institutions, development partners, faith based organisations, civil society groups, private sector actors, the media, and community representatives to reflect on Ghana’s child wellbeing priorities and strengthen collective action to address child vulnerability.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the launch, the National Director, Tina Mukunda emphasized the organisation’s commitment to integrated programming, partnerships, and community empowerment.

“We want to ensure that every child has fullness of life,” she said.

The Strategy and Integrated Programme Director, Joshua Baido, highlighted the importance of addressing issues affecting children, citing statistics that 2.4 million children under five were stunted due to acute malnutrition and 768,000 children are in child labor.

“We are calling on all partners to join hands and work together to bring hope to every child. We want to harness all opportunities to address harmful practices and issues affecting the growth of our children,” Mr Baidoo said.

Funding

On funding, Joseph Appiah said the organisation aimed to mobilise $120 million for the strategy period, building on the $101 million raised between 2021 and 2025.

He revealed plans to secure at least 40 per cent of funding locally through innovative financing models, including blended finance, private sector partnerships, diaspora contributions, and community sponsorship initiatives.

He noted that World Vision Ghana will explore social enterprise opportunities, leveraging assets such as its water laboratory to generate revenue while delivering services.
