President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaian businesses to demonstrate good corporate citizenship by openly paying their taxes.
Speaking at the Kwahu Business Forum 2026 today, Saturday, April 4, he emphasized the importance of tax compliance, encouraging big businesses to personally present their tax payments to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
“I encourage businesses to demonstrate good corporate citizenship by openly paying their taxes”, he noted.
President Mahama also promised to improve tax collection efficiency, which would ultimately reduce the tax burden on individual businesses.
The President’s call is part of his administration’s efforts to promote transparency and accountability in the business sector. He also highlighted the need for succession planning to ensure long-term business sustainability, citing the example of a local Tuozafi joint in Tamale that continued to thrive under the founder’s daughter after his passing.
The Kwahu Business Forum aims to foster innovation, secure funding, and build strategic partnerships for sustainable growth.
