Fido, a digital lending platform, emerged as the biggest winner at the 5th Ghana Fintech Awards, securing six honours, including the top prize of Fintech of the Year.
The awards ceremony, held in Accra on March 28, 2026, brought together industry players, regulators and financial institutions to recognise innovation and growth within Ghana’s digital finance space.
Fido’s wins spanned key categories, highlighting its operations in financial inclusion, partnerships and product innovation. The company received awards for Fintech for Financial Inclusion, Fintech and Bank Partnership of the Year for its EasySave collaboration with Access Bank, Fintech and Non-Bank Partnership of the Year for its work with Bolt, and Banking Innovative Product of the Year.
The company’s Head of Business Development, Philip Twum, was also named Young Fintech Leader of the Year, adding an individual accolade to the firm’s performance on the night.
The combined wins culminated in Fido being adjudged Fintech of the Year, the highest honour of the event, reflecting its overall impact in the sector.
Speaking after receiving the awards, Mr Twum said, “Having attended the very first edition of the Ghana Fintech Awards and watched this event grow into the defining celebration of our industry it has become today is very impressive. Winning the highly competitive Young Fintech Leader of the Year award together with a sweep of other category awards by Fido — on the back of everything we achieved together in 2025, and with the support of the public vote — is something we will always be proud of. It was an all-around excellent event, and I am grateful to have been a part of it.”
Chief Executive Officer of Fido Ghana, Sebastian Quansah, said the recognition underscored the company’s commitment to expanding access to financial services.
“These wins reflect our unwavering commitment to putting financial tools in the hands of every Ghanaian, and we see this as both a validation and a responsibility to do even more,” he said.
The awards were held under the theme “From Awareness to Action: Building a Cyber-Secure Fintech Landscape in Ghana”, focusing on strengthening digital financial systems and promoting secure innovation across the sector.
