Cluster of motorcyclists waiting to pick passengers at Mile 2
A motorcyclist has died in an auto crash after a bus reportedly drove against traffic at high speed on the Mowe axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.
Two other persons sustained injuries in the accident, which involved a yellow Mazda bus with registration number GGE 376 YE and a Boxer motorcycle with registration number ABG 298VZ.
The spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident to journalists in a statement issued in Abeokuta yesterday.
Akinbiyi said three persons — one male and two females — were involved in the crash, which led to the death of the motorcyclist and injuries to two others.
He said the accident was caused by the bus driver’s excessive speed, which resulted in a collision with the motorcyclist.
According to him, the injured victims were rushed to Famobis Hospital for treatment, while the deceased was deposited at the Famobis Morgue.
He added that traffic was not affected as the vehicles involved had been towed away.
