Ghana: Ilyas Ansah will not compete at the 2026 World Cup

Born in Lüdenscheid, Germany and originally from Ghana, Ilyas Ansah is eligible to play for both the NationalMannschaft and the Black Stars. Aged 21, the German U21 international striker is coveted by the Ghanaian Federation for the 2026 World Cup. In an interview given to Tribuna, the player was clear: his goal is to play in the U21 Euro with Germany and after that he will make a decision on his international future.

“I decided to make the most of my Union experience and continue playing for Germany’s under-21 team. After the European Championship, I will take stock next year and make a decision. For now, I will not be participating in the World Cup with Ghana.” 

he said.

Union Berlin player, Ilyas Ansah is the author of 5 goals and 2 assists in 26 games all competitions combined.
