Mahama swears in Heads of Fire and Immigration Services

President John Dramani Mahama has sworn into office Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong as the substantive Chief Fire Officer and Samuel Basintale Amadu as Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Presidency, formally ushered the two officials into their respective roles to lead the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Immigration Service.

As Chief Fire Officer, Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong is expected to oversee fire prevention, public safety education and emergency response operations nationwide.

Samuel Basintale Amadu, as Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service, will be responsible for border management, migration control and the enforcement of immigration laws.

President Mahama charged the newly sworn-in officials to discharge their duties with professionalism, integrity and dedication to national service.

Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sapong was appointed on March 24, 2025, as the new Chief Fire Officer (CFO) of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), making her the first woman ever to hold the prestigious position.

Until her appointment, Ntow Sapong served as the Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO) and Director of Fire Safety, roles in which she distinguished herself through her unwavering dedication and exemplary leadership.

Samuel Basintale Amadu as Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service. was also appointed in March 2025.
