‘Imade Lost, Mentioning My Deceased Son Is A No’

Award-winning Nigerian singer, Davido Adeleke, better known as Davido, has dropped the custody battle over his first child and daughter, Imade.

Naija News reports that Davido and his first babymama, Sophia Momodu, were in court on Thursday, February 12, for a hearing on a lawsuit seeking joint custody of Imade.

However, drama ensued during the court proceedings when Sophia’s lawyer questioned how Davido could guarantee Imade’s safety when he was unable to protect his son, Ifeanyi, who passed away in October 2022.

The lawyer’s comment ticked Davido off, who reportedly lost his cool and slammed the lawyer in the courtroom.

The court proceedings were halted for a while, and when the court reconvened, the judge asked Davido to apologise to the court and the lawyer, but the singer reportedly refused, insisting he can never apologise to the lawyer for using his deceased son against him.

In a post shared on his 𝕏 handle on Friday, Davido pointed out that no one won in this case, noting that the only person who lost is Imade.

According to the singer, mentioning his deceased son was a no, adding that he has dropped the case, expressing optimism that Imade will grow up knowing that he fought for her.

He wrote, “1. I never asked for full custody … I asked for joint custody
“2. Nobody won, nobody lost but Imade … so I don’t know why some pple r celebrating.. there’s nothing to celebrate.

“3 . I’ve decided to drop the case because when I was spanking that lawyer in the court room all .. she would get so frustrated .. because normally I finish school .. I was finishing her .. until she brought out her last card ! MY DECEASED SON ! THATS A NO NO ! Lowest blow!

“4. My daughter will grow up knowing I fought for her .. let’s move on ❤️🙏 One love !”
