Nollywood Actress Lilian Afegbai has revealed that she prefers to keep her private life completely to herself, including her relationships, even from close friends.
In an interview with Ify’s Kitchen, Afegbai explained that she naturally keeps things to herself and does not feel the need to share personal details with anyone.
Naija News reports that she said her reserved nature stems from trust issues linked to childhood experiences.
Afegbai also mentioned that she is working on overcoming these challenges through therapy, describing herself as a work in progress.
She added that her friendly personality is often misunderstood.
Having many friends does not mean she is close to all of them, and she carefully chooses who she lets into her personal world.
She said: “In real life, I do not discuss my relationship or my private life with my friends. I am a very secretive person, and I do not care if you say I am not trustworthy, but I will not discuss my personal life with you. I just have serious trust issues from childhood trauma. I am even tackling it now by seeing a therapist, and I am still a work in progress. People assume because I have plenty of friends, they think I am close to everybody. I am not like that at all.”
