Grace Agyemang Asamoah receiving her award

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly, Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has received a prestigious international humanitarian award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to social welfare and community development.

The honour was conferred by the International Ministerial Council of Churches and Bible Colleges (IAMCCBC), headquartered in Houston, Texas, USA. The Council, which operates over 150 campuses worldwide and has a membership of more than 11,000 across 60 countries, recognised Ms. Agyemang Asamoah for her unwavering commitment to humanitarian service and social development.

Presenting the award, the African Coordinator and President of the Ghana Chapter of IAMCCBC, Rev. Emmanuel Boachie, led a delegation on behalf of the Global President, Rev. Mark Randall Brown. He described the Council as a non-partisan organisation dedicated to identifying and honouring individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication to humanitarian causes.

Rev. Boachie disclosed that four nominees from Ghana were initially considered for the award, with two shortlisted. Ms. Agyemang Asamoah emerged as the ultimate recipient due to what he described as her remarkable record of service to humanity in both her public office and private life.

He further explained that the award process would be implemented in two phases, with the first phase recognising the DCE in her current capacity, while the second phase would take place at a later date under a different designation. He encouraged public office holders to emulate her example by prioritising the needs of vulnerable and underserved members of society.

In her acceptance speech, Ms. Agyemang Asamoah expressed profound gratitude and humility for the recognition, describing it as a reflection of collective effort rather than personal achievement.

“I receive this award not as a personal achievement alone, but as a reflection of collective effort, shared vision, and unwavering commitment to progress,” she stated.

She noted that meaningful work done with integrity and passion transcends borders, adding that impactful leadership and service are recognised globally.

The DCE dedicated the award to the people of Atwima Kwanwoma, acknowledging their trust and resilience as a constant source of inspiration. She also paid tribute to her team and colleagues for their professionalism and teamwork, which she said had enabled the translation of ideas into tangible development outcomes.

Ms. Agyemang Asamoah expressed appreciation to both local and international partners who have supported the district’s development agenda, underscoring the importance of global collaboration in addressing shared challenges and promoting sustainable development.

Describing the award as “not a destination, but a motivation,” she reaffirmed her commitment to inclusive development, particularly for women, young people and underserved communities.

She concluded by pledging to continue serving with excellence, empathy and accountability, while urging all stakeholders to work together towards building a more just and prosperous society.
