Both sides had reached the last eight without taking to the field in the Round of 16, with KCB progressing via a walkover against Daystar University while Blak Blad benefitted from Mwamba RFC’s withdrawal. Despite that, there was little doubt about who would control this meeting.

The result underlined the Bankers’ continued dominance over the students, having also beaten them 45–3 the last time they met in late January.

KCB wasted no time in asserting themselves, launching an early onslaught through back-to-back tries from Fidel Maina and Andycolle Omollo.
Levy Amunga, returning to the squad and slotting in at fly-half, added the extras to Omollo’s effort as the hosts took firm control.
Amunga, an Administration Police coach and police officer, was also influential in the attack, crossing over before stepping up to convert again.
