Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu previously served as CEO of MASLOC
The US Marshals Service has released a detailed account of the arrest and detention of former MASLOC CEO Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, following a request for information submitted under the US Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by Ghanaian lawyer William Nyarko.
Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, had fled to the United States after a Ghanaian High Court convicted her in April 2024.
She was sentenced to 10 years in prison for multiple offenses, including causing financial loss to the state, theft, conspiracy to steal, money laundering and breaches of the Public Procurement Act.
On January 15, 2026, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, Victor Smith, confirmed that Tamakloe-Attionu had been arrested by the US Marshals Service and was being held at the Henderson Detention Center in Nevada, though he did not provide additional details at the time.

According to a 3news.com report, the US Marshals Service letter, now public, provides a step-by-step account of her apprehension, with some names redacted under FOIA provisions.
Arrest details:
A warrant for Tamakloe-Attionu’s arrest was issued on December 12, 2025, by the US District Court for the District of Nevada, seeking her extradition to Ghana as a fugitive following her embezzlement-related conviction.
On the same day, a Deputy US Marshal was assigned to the case.
On January 6, 2026, officers from the Nevada Violent Offenders Task Force (NVOTF) located her residence.
Around 12:15 PM, she was seen opening and closing her front door before returning inside.
The task force approached the property at about 3:05 PM to execute the arrest warrant. After announcing their presence, they made contact with Tamakloe-Attionu at the door, placed her in restraints and conducted a search on the scene.
She was then placed in a vehicle by a Task Force Officer and transported to the Federal Courthouse in Las Vegas.
Following this, Tamakloe-Attionu was transferred to the Henderson Detention Center, a US Marshals Service contracted facility, where she spent the night.
The next morning, January 7, 2026, Henderson Police Department escorted her back to the Federal Courthouse for official booking into US Marshals custody.
