Time to unite and focus on 2028 victory

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Greater Accra Region has called on all aspirants and supporters to set aside differences and unite behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia following his decisive victory in the party’s presidential primaries.

In a statement dated Sunday, February 1, Divine Otoo Agorhom, Regional Chairman of the NPP in Greater Accra, congratulated Dr. Bawumia, describing the outcome as a clear reflection of the confidence delegates have in his leadership, vision, and commitment to the party’s values.

He also acknowledged the efforts of former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, and other aspirants, noting that their participation had strengthened the party’s internal democracy.

“The task ahead is greater than any individual ambition, and our unity is essential for success,” Mr. Agorhom said, urging both winners and non-winners, along with their supporters, to close ranks and focus on preparing the party for the 2028 general elections.

He emphasised that mobilising party structures and presenting a united front would be critical to securing victory against the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and continuing Ghana’s progress.

“Now is the time for us to close ranks, mobilise our structures at every level, and present a united front as we prepare to face the NDC in 2028,” the statement read.

Mr. Agorhom concluded by praying for renewed unity and purpose within the party, declaring, “God bless the New Patriotic Party, and God bless Ghana.”
