Nollywood actress and singer, Angela Okorie, has remained in Suleja Correctional Centre custody, despite being granted bail by the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday.

Naija News reports that the Justice of the court had approved bail to the embattled actress to the tune of ₦5 million, with one surety in like sum, who must be a level 13 civil servant.

Her bail, which was reportedly secured through the efforts of prominent activists and public figures, has yet to be executed due to timing delays.

Angela’s bail was facilitated by a coalition of supporters, including activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, veteran actress Mama Pee, actor Stanley Ontop, and rights advocate Randy Peter.

Despite the successful processing of her bail terms, Angela remains behind bars.

Explaining the delay, actor Stanley Ontop revealed via his Instagram story that all bail conditions had been met, but that the processing was completed after official hours on Friday, making her release impossible before the weekend.

“Angela Okorie’s bail application has been processed, but after we had finished the processing, time had gone.

“So she will be out from Suleja prison by Monday. We have met all her bail conditions. We await Monday for her release,” Stanley wrote.
