Derrick Nana Asare has reaffirmed the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) confidence in Ghana’s current direction, citing improving economic indicators and the party’s commitment to doing even more for the Ghanaian people.

Speaking in an interview on Kasapa FM, he anchored his remarks on John Dramani Mahama’s Resetting Ghana Agenda, which he described as a practical and people-centered roadmap for sustainable national development.

According to Derrick Nana Asare, the signs of economic recovery being enjoyed today—relative stability, reduced inflationary pressures, and easing prices of goods—are clear indications that Ghana is on the right path.

He explained that these gains are not accidental but are rooted in disciplined economic thinking, social intervention policies, and a renewed focus on production and accountability, values he associates strongly with the NDC tradition and Mahama’s leadership philosophy.

“The NDC is on course,” he stated, “and we will do more for Ghanaians.”

He noted that the Resetting Agenda is about rebuilding confidence in the economy, restoring hope among citizens, and putting people at the center of governance.

From market women to young entrepreneurs and public sector workers, Derrick Nana Asare emphasised that Ghanaians are beginning to feel some relief as inflation trends downward and prices of essential goods stabilize compared to previous periods of hardship.

He further explained that the Resetting Ghana Agenda prioritises macroeconomic stability alongside social protection.

This includes job creation, support for small and medium-scale enterprises, youth-focused initiatives, and policies that protect the vulnerable.

According to him, a good economy must reflect in the daily lives of citizens, not just in statistics, and that is the core philosophy of the NDC.

Touching on leadership, Derrick Nana Asare praised John Dramani Mahama’s experience and responsiveness, describing him as a leader who listens, learns, and corrects.

He noted that the lessons from past governance have strengthened the party’s resolve to manage the economy more efficiently while maintaining transparency and accountability.

He also highlighted the role of the grassroots in sustaining the gains being made.

Strong party structures, active citizen participation, and inclusive decision-making, he said, are critical to ensuring that economic progress is protected and expanded.

“When the grassroots are carried along, policies work better and last longer,” he added.

The Kasapa FM interview concluded with a message of assurance and optimism. Derrick Nana Asare reiterated that while the current economic improvements are encouraging, the NDC is not complacent.

With Mahama’s Resetting Agenda as a guide, the party is determined to deepen economic stability, further reduce the cost of living, and expand opportunities for all Ghanaians.

His message was clear: Ghana is moving forward, the economy is showing positive signs, and under the NDC’s vision, there is a strong commitment to do more for the people.
