Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has opened up about how she almost became a pastor at the age of 19 before walking away from the path.

Naija News reports that the mother of one shared the story during a recent live interview with Stella Dimokokorkus.

She explained that she discovered her spiritual calling from childhood but ran from it because she felt God wanted her to first experience life.

Dikeh said she had been active in church since leaving secondary school and had always felt close to God.

According to her, the many troubles and struggles she faced over the years were part of a divine plan meant to prepare her for a greater purpose.

She said many people who passed through the same experiences might not have survived, adding that she believed God kept her alive because of the work He had chosen her to do.

The mother of one revealed that her calling is linked to prayer and healing and that she may soon begin an online prayer platform if she receives clear direction from God.

She said she is now focused on allowing God to guide her daily and sees herself only as a tool in His hands.

Dikeh also explained that her return to faith was not because of money, fame, or the desire to change her public image.

She said she already had wealth and comfort, but turned back to God because she wanted to live and fulfil the assignment she believed was placed on her life.

She added that her journey has been about survival and obedience, not profit, and that she has no plans to turn her spiritual work into a business.

The actress had earlier spoken about past struggles with anger, smoking, alcohol, and other personal battles, which she said God helped her overcome through faith and prayer.
