Former Hearts of Oak board member Barimah Atuahene has reiterated that Accra Hearts of Oak SC biggest problem as a club has nothing to do with technical. Insisting, he’s struggled to watch matches of the Phobias in recent times due to the level of retrogression.

The Continental Club Masters within 10-years, hired more coaches than laurels won.

Hearts of Oak SC last time winning, the Premiership was 2021/22 league season under coach Samuel Boadu. They have since struggled to return to Africa with fans agitating on quality of players recruited.

Barimah Atuahene who previously worked for Hearts of Oak SC, says Vincent Odotei and Alhaji Moro Braimah Akambi are the cost of Hearts of Oak woes and inability of capturing quality players for the success of the outfit.

He affirms that, the two individuals are making the financial backing of club majority shareholder Togbe Afede go waste, considering the huge infrastructural development raised at Pobiman for the club.

Atuahene believes, with the departure of the aforementioned personalities Hearts of Oak SC will rise to be the giant that it was in Africa – Mighty Hearts of Oak SC.

“With Odotei and Akambi around Hearts of Oak, the club will continue to struggle. These people have been around the team and the team keep retrogressing.

“I think it is about time that Togbe Afede sack these people from the club. The supporters want them out, and I agree with the call by the fans”, he told Asempa FM.

“I think Togbe should get competent management that will report to him. I am sad anytime I watch Hearts of Oak play. Togbe has spent millions on this team, but they keep failing him. With the infrastructure at the club now, these players should be performing, but that is not the case”.

Hearts of Oak SC in the ongoing 2025/26 Ghana Premier league campaign, sits 5th after drawing goalless with Dreams FC on Saturday.

With 32 points, are hoping to challenge for the league title.
