The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akatsi South, Daniel Dagba, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Bernard Ahiafor, has commenced Phase One of a major road reshaping project covering about 40 kilometres within the municipality.

The intervention, which targets some of the most critical feeder and community roads, is expected to significantly improve mobility, enhance access to farming communities and boost local economic activities, particularly for farmers, traders, students and daily commuters who have endured poor road conditions for several years.

According to the Municipal Assembly, the reshaping works will help ease transportation challenges, reduce vehicle maintenance costs and improve connectivity between communities and major market centres across Akatsi South.

Roads earmarked for Phase One of the project include Live Road; the Gadzekpo–Wodome–Agormor Road; the Agbevekope–Asafotsi–Dadame road through Lume Donakope; the Sremanu–Have–Wuxor to Keyime Road; Edzikorpe Road; and the Ogreen Junction linking the Akatsi–Tuime Road.

The project is being undertaken through a joint effort between the MCE and the MP, reflecting what officials describe as a shared commitment to addressing long-standing infrastructure deficits and improving the living conditions of residents in the municipality.

Speaking on the project, both Daniel Dagba and Bernard Ahiafor assured residents that the ongoing works represent only the first phase of a broader road infrastructure development agenda, with additional roads expected to be reshaped in subsequent phases.

They noted that the commencement of the project demonstrates effective coordination, unity and a common development vision aimed at translating policy commitments into tangible benefits for the people of Akatsi South.

Residents have been urged to cooperate fully with contractors and equipment operators on site to ensure the smooth and timely execution of the project.
