According to the sources on 4th of December 2022 afternoon tragedy has struck Kitui County. A bus carrying Catholic faithful’s was swept away while attempting to cross a swollen river Enziu in Nguni, Mwingi. Meanwhile, according to the sources it was confirmed that the rescue efforts bared fruits after 17 survivors were rescued and regrettably 27 bodies have been recovered.
Nonetheless, excavator were used in pulling out the bus which was still deep in the waters of River Enziu with a few passengers.
