Matome Chiloane, the MEC for Education in Gauteng, has raised alarm about the recent spike in suicides and attempted suicides at Tsakane Secondary School.
This is in response to reports that two female students in Grades 8 and 12 at Tsakane Secondary School ingested poison at their respective houses on Monday, August 7, and Tuesday, August 8, 2023, respectively.
The fact that two more students from the same school were taken to the hospital and are now in critical condition has a negative impact on the school and the neighborhood.
Both pupils and parents are in shock and grief over the unfathomable reason for this horrific incident. The authorities launched a thorough investigation right away to determine what exactly happened to cause this unfortunate tragedy.
