In football there’s always players that deemed as bad buys, since they’re seen in different places whereby professionals footballers aren’t supposed to be in at anytime. As long as they’re still involved in football, there’s a certain standard that they supposed to keep about the profession. Since, they’re regarded as role models and they cannot be seen in night clubs, drinking alcohol and around numerous women. Also, just throwing parties recklessly, drinking and driving as well as involved in some abusive relationships, amongst other things. Now, Steve Komphela has recruited some players that are known for misbehaving at their previous clubs.

Which has affected their football journey, hence they’ve been moving to different teams in the DStv Premiership. As it seems like some technical team cannot keep up with their misbehaviours. Swallows FC didn’t waste time during the transfer window as they recruited ten players, the so-called bad boys in the league namely Andile Jali, Dumsani Zuma and Gabadinho Mhango. However, the former Kaizer Chiefs mentor stated that he loves working with players that have been labeled with certain terms as he knows how to give them a second chance. In fact, he felt they’re just misunderstood since they “act out of the norm” at times. “I beg to differ… I have geniuses. They act slightly out of the norm,” said Komphela speaking to the media.

Furthermore, the former Mamelodi Sundowns first team coach stated that he loves working with players that the football fraternity doesn’t approve of at times as he feels that they have something unique to offer at Swallows. “So, when you have such super stars, you have to deal with it. It’s not easy to deal with super stars and geniuses,” said Komphela speaking to the media.
