Eskom employee busted with stolen copper cables – It is devastating to note that people who are trained to guard infrastructure are the ones who destroy and steal from where they are supposed to provide security .

An update that was issued by Sowetan Live confirmed that there were two scrap metal dealers and three security guards from Eskom who got arrested in connection with some stolen copper and aluminium cables . In accordance with the report , the 54 year old Andries Jacobus Jordan was released on Friday on a bail of R5000 .

Mr Zweli Nxanga aged 31 , 47 year old Jan Ntshidi , Hilton Wall aged 64 , and Tsietsi Morobe aged 41 were released on R2000 bail .The arrests took place following an operation that was conducted when it emerged that the scrap metal outlet was buying stolen equipment .

Suspected stolen cables worth more than R60 000 were recovered .While in the middle of searching the scrap outlet , three security guards from Eskom reportedly arrived with copper cables with a value of R8000 , leading to their arrests.
