The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Mfon Jeremiah, on suspicion of having had carnal knowledge of his biological daughter (name withheld) until he got her pregnant.
Thirty-nine-year-old Jeremiah, a resident of FIRRO Estate off Adesan in Mowe, allegedly began having sex with his 13-year-old daughter, after he had separated from his wife.
When the victim’s mother went to check on the girl, she found out she was pregnant. Upon inquiries, the girl was said to have confessed that Jeremiah was responsible for the four-month old pregnancy.

She took the victim to the hospital where it was confirmed that the teenager is four months pregnant.
The victim’s mother, horrified by this finding, filed a complaint with the Mowe divisional office, Ogun State.
As a result, SP Folake Afeniforo, the DPO for the Mowe division, immediately dispatched detectives to the suspect’s home, where they immediately arrested him.
The suspect admitted under questioning that he was responsible for his daughter’s pregnancy, although he claimed to have been under a spell at the time.
Jeremiah informed the police that he was dreaming of having sex with his wife who has separated from him for some time now, only to discover that it was her daughter that he had sex with.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, directed that the suspect be transferred to the anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and possible prosecution.
