Nigerian singer and songwriter, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has sparked reactions on his social media page with the post he made about the candidacy of the APC presidential aspirant, Bola Tinubu.
In the post he made on his verified Twitter handle, Charly Boy said that he heard that the former Lagos State governor and APC presidential aspirant, Bola Tinubu, has been “benched” by the party.
He wrote in pidgin – “I hear say them bench my junior brother Jagaban, abeg na true?”
In their reaction to the post, some people have said that “Jagaban” is still in the race, while some said that the best thing to do is to wait and see what will happen in the end.
The APC is doing all it can to make sure they retain power in 2023, and the former Lagos State governor has been seen as one of the leading contenders for the APC presidential ticket. There are a lot of discussions in the media on whether Tinubu has what it takes to emerge as the winner at the end of the day. We are also certain that APC would want to field a candidate that they are sure can beat other aspirants at the polls next year.
We cannot ascertain if Tinubu has been “benched” by APC ahead of the party’s primary election or not, but we can only wait to see what will happen in the coming days.
