Kelly Rowland On Bad Parenting Moment, Tina Knowles Advice

There’s no such thing as a perfect parent, and Kelly Rowland recently shared an incident that reminded her of just that.

During Monday’s episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, Kelly opened up about a scary experience she had with her eldest son, Titan, while they watched her new Halloween movie, The Curse of Bridge Hollow.

Although the Netflix horror-comedy is deemed a family film, one scene really frightened her 7-year-old son: seeing his mother’s character appear like she’s dying.

“I thought since I’m sitting right there with them, we’re fine,” Kelly told Jennifer. “But there’s a scene in the movie where Mommy looks like she’s about to go to the other side.”

“Titan goes, ‘Mommy!’ Like it was a whole release. I was like, ‘Yo I’m right here, I’m right here, I’m not going nowhere.’ And he was like, ‘No,’ like it was a whole moment.”

Kelly revealed Titan cried for five minutes because he thought the scene was real, despite her being right next to him while they watched it.

After the incident, Kelly called her “second mom” Tina Knowles to tell her about it, and her response was more blunt than Kelly expected.

“She’s like, ‘Well, why the hell you do something like that?’ She didn’t understand why I even shot a movie,” she said. “She’s like, ‘It’s Halloween, baby, you don’t do that no more.’”

Which basically means, in my opinion, don’t show your kids images of you hurt, even if it isn’t real, because it could scare them into thinking it’s real.

But don’t let this moment stop you from watching her new film with Marlon Wayans, The Curse of Bridge Hollow, which is streaming now on Netflix.
