Simu Liu is taking his role in the Barbie movie seriously — smooth and shiny skin included!

In fact, the actor says he actually had to get his entire body waxed for the role…which makes sense, because I’m pretty sure no Barbie doll ever has had body hair.
“Waxing has been an education to say the least. It was one of the most painful experiences of my life,” he told The Independent.

He added that he has a “newfound admiration” for the “incredibly brave women” who often get waxed on a monthly basis.
Meanwhile, Simu didn’t spill any plot details, aside from the fact that his body would be hair-free.

And while everyone online speculates what the film is going to be about, Simu says the whole online discourse is “giving [him] life.”
“With every casting announcement or bit of news, they’re like: ‘What is this?’ And that’s perfect – the less you know about it the better,” Simu said.
