Times Celebrities Had No Shame In Publicly Dissing Another Famous Person

These celebrities felt no need to be discreet.

Almost every celebrity move has a strategy behind it, and that’s been true throughout time. Cultivating a public image takes a little bit of calculating, say what you will of it.

That’s why when a celebrity says something publicly, it means something. Sometimes it just means promo for a new project but once in a while, there’s something that cuts deeper.

Here are just some of the many times celebrities really came for each other.

1.

Joan Crawford and Bette Davis were still striving for success while aging in Hollywood. Then, they were both cast in What Happened To Baby Jane?

The two were feuding over Franchot Tone, who Davis believed Crawford stole from her knowing Davis was in pursuit and after that, it was a feud for life.

2.

Elton John and Madonna were sort of friendly before he chewed her out at the 2004 Q Awards.

“Madonna, best live act? F— off. Since when has lip-syncing been live? Sorry about that, but I think everyone who lip-syncs on stage in public when you pay like 75 quid to see them should be shot,” Elton said plainly.

“Thank you very much. That’s me off her Christmas card list, but do I give a toss? No.”

3.

Mariah Carey cut Jennifer Lopez down to size with this now iconic moment. The reason Mariah doesn’t know her has to do with ex-husband Tommy Mottola.

As the story goes, Mottola tried to give Jennifer Lopez a sample he knew Mariah already used, setting the feud in motion.

4.

But Mariah is always locked, loaded, and ready to fire, as evidenced by her feud with Eminem.

Mariah and Eminem have gone back and forth over the years with their disagreement over whether or not they dated in the early aughts. She got the last laugh with a diss track turned hit, “Obsessed.”

Kevin Smith’s disdain for Bruce Willis makes for some surprisingly juicy Hollywood drama.

Kevin Smith was a Bruce Willis fanboy and even got the chance to direct him in a film, but that’s where the love… died, hard. The two had creative differences so bad throughout filming that by the end, Willis refused to take promotional pictures (which he ended up Photoshopped into).

Smith never shied away from his feelings about Willis after that.

“Tracy Morgan, I would lay down in traffic for,” Smith shared.

“Were it not for Tracy, I might’ve killed myself or someone else in the making of that movie.”

6.

Chloe Grace Moretz had something to say about Kim Kardashian posing nude as a mom.

She tweeted at Kim, “I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than…”

But you best believe Kim had something to say back.

“Let’s all welcome @ChloeGMoretz to Twitter, since no one knows who she is…your Nylon cover is cute boo,” Kim casually tweeted, referring to Chloe’s own nude cover.

“Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette and she is the right girl for [Prince William]. I like that kind of woman, I like romantic beauties,” he allegedly said.

“On the other hand, her sister struggles. I don’t like the sister’s face. She should only show her back.”

8.

Heidi Montag resented how she was made the villain in The Hills, which has since been revealed to have been scripted.

A lot of The Hills may have been fake, but the hate between Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag was real, as evidenced by Heidi’s 2019 comments about LC.

“I spent years pretending to like her for a living,” she told Us Weekly. “It was literally my job to deal with her, and it wasn’t pleasant… I had nothing to do with her problems. I even tried to help her. The fact is, she lied about me and tried to destroy my life, yet I was the one painted as the villain so the show could have her as the good guy.”

9.

T.I. slammed Iggy Azalea as “the tarnish of my legacy as far as [being] a [music] executive” in 2019.

T.I. allegedly said he was “still actively looking for another female rapper who can undo the blunder of Iggy Azalea,” The Root reported.

“To me, this is like when Michael Jordan went to play baseball.”

Iggy had something of her own to say about the experience, however.

“Imagine thinking I was his biggest blunder lmaoooooooooooooo Tip. Sweetie. We have a whole list for you,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet.

“The tea I could spill on what bulls—t this is but at the end of the day I think people can see it’s clear he’s salty. He’s a huge misogynist and has never been able to have a conversation with any woman in which he doesn’t speak like a fortune cookie.”

10.

“Jennifer Lawrence I find annoying. Too crass.”

Megan told it like it was when it came to the series’ director. ” He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad man reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is,” she told Wonderland.

“He’s vulnerable and fragile in real life and then on set he’s a tyrant.”

“Just out of the blue, he’s like, ‘I’m not some sellout like Robert De Niro and Harrison Ford and George Clooney.’ I’m like, ‘Where the f**k did that come from?'” Clooney told GQ 20 years later, indicating the drama lives on to this day.

13.

Kim Cattrall slammed SJP after she insinuated Kim was the reason the third Sex And The City movie wouldn’t happen.

Kim told Piers Morgan she’d been clear on her no-stance toward another movie since the second film. She also shared that it was unfair of her castmates, who hadn’t reached out to her directly, to make their comments in the press.

“This is really where I take to task the people from Sex and the City and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker in that I think she could have been nicer,” she said. “I really think she could have been nicer. I don’t know what her issue is, I never have.”

14.

“Remember when you made my first television gig a living hell?!?! Cause I’ll never forget,” Samantha tweeted at Lea, in all caps.

“I believe you told everyone that if you had the opportunity you would ‘s— in my wig!’ amongst other traumatic microaggressions that made me question a career in Hollywood?”

Lea later apologized, though she hasn’t done anything professionally since.

15.

Martha Stewart showed no mercy toward Gwyneth Paltrow as she entered the home and wellness space.

“She just needs to be quiet. She’s a movie star,” Martha told Net-a-Porter. “If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn’t be trying to be Martha Stewart.”

16.

Tom Cruise got on Brooke Shields when he slammed her taking medication for postpartum depression.

“When someone says (medication) has helped them, it is to cope, it didn’t cure anything. There is no science. There is nothing that can cure them whatsoever,” he told Access Hollywood of her sharing her postpartum journey.

“I care about Brooke Shields because I think she is an incredibly talented women, (but) look at where has her career gone.”

Brooke didn’t mince words in her response.
