Just in awe of women, specifically Stephanie.
For those of us who have periods, you know how it can be absolute hell trying to get through a work day while having mini-contractions. Well, it turns out Encanto star Stephanie Beatriz took that a step further by RECORDING A SONG for the movie while IN ACTIVE LABOR?!

When it came time to record the final rendition of Mirabel’s “Waiting on a Miracle,” Stephanie was already in the beginning stages of labor. “I didn’t want to tell anybody at Disney because I didn’t want anyone to freak out.”

She continued, “But I was already having some contractions when we were scheduled to record that day. I was like ‘Well, fingers crossed I finish the song before [the baby] comes!'”

As it turns out, Encanto director Byron Howard was completely clueless about Stephanie’s situation. While “laughing in shock,” he said, “We knew she was very, very, very, very ready to have that baby. But she did not tell us she was almost, almost ready.”

Translation: We knew, but we didn’t know know, you know?
Well, Stephanie is clearly a badass, and I’m sure her on-screen alter-ego Rosa Diaz would agree. Talk about dedication!
