Davido To Win About ₦500 Million If Super Eagles Win AFCON Semi-final Match

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has placed a $50,000 wager on the Super Eagles ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations semi-final showdown against Morocco.

Naija News reports that the highly anticipated encounter is scheduled for Wednesday night, with kick-off set for 9 pm Nigerian time.

The ‘Timeless’ crooner shared a screenshot of his betting slip on his Instagram page on Wednesday, publicly declaring his confidence in the Super Eagles’ ability to overcome the Atlas Lions.

“Nigeria to make the finals and I’ll double my stake on my slip…. 💰 #stake,” Davido wrote.

The bet shows the singer backing a combination of outcomes, including both teams to score and an Asian total over 1.5 goals.

With odds pegged at 6.97, Davido stands to win a reported $348,274.07 if his predictions are correct.

At current exchange rates, the potential payout is estimated at about ₦500m, underscoring the singer’s confidence in the Nigerian side.

Nigeria last lifted the Africa Cup of Nations trophy in 2013, and the Super Eagles will be aiming to end that drought by navigating past a strong Moroccan team that has been one of the tournament’s standout performers.

Morocco, backed by a largely home-support base, has impressed with its organisation and attacking threat throughout the competition.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time the DMW Records boss has backed the Super Eagles with a high-stakes wager.

The singer reportedly earned a payout of $96,564 (about ₦150m) earlier in the tournament after correctly predicting the outcome of Nigeria’s opening Group C match against Tanzania in Fes, Morocco.

Davido had staked a wager that both teams would score in the fixture, a prediction that paid off.

As the Super Eagles gear up for their semi-final test, fans will be watching not just the pitch action, but also whether Davido’s bold bet once again delivers big rewards.
