The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has reaffirmed its strict adherence to the July 31, 2026 deadline for Premier League clubs to finalize and submit their Club Licensing Applications via the Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP). This deadline, which marks the final opportunity for clubs to comply with regulatory requirements, will not be extended under any circumstances.

The Club Licensing Department has issued a clear warning that clubs failing to meet the submission deadline risk severe penalties, including exclusion from the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season. These sanctions are enforced under the GFA’s Club Licensing Regulations, which mandate strict compliance for all participating clubs.

Current Status of Club Applications

As of 11:00 AM on Monday, July 27, 2026, only seven clubs have successfully completed their applications:

  1. Accra Hearts of Oak
  2. Asante Kotoko
  3. Dreams FC
  4. Medeama SC
  5. FC Samartex 1996
  6. All Blacks United FC
  7. Basake Holy Stars FC

Meanwhile, five other clubs—Debibi United, Karela FC, Bechem United, Port City FC, and Vision FC—are still actively working on their submissions, with some documents and requirements yet to be fully addressed.

A concerning six clubs remain completely inactive in the application process:

  • Aduana FC
  • Berekum Chelsea
  • Bibiani Gold Stars
  • Heart of Lions
  • FC Ashantigold
  • Young Apostles FC

The Club Licensing Department has urgently called on these clubs to accelerate their submissions and ensure all mandatory documents—including financial statements, stadium compliance reports, player registration details, and governance structure verifications—are fully uploaded before the non-negotiable deadline.

Critical Compliance Requirements

The GFA has emphasized that club licensing is not optional but a compulsory prerequisite for participation in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season. Failure to comply may result in:

  • Automatic disqualification from league play.
  • Financial penalties imposed by the GFA.
  • Potential legal repercussions under football governance laws.

To avoid last-minute complications, the GFA has advised clubs to:
– Verify all documentation before submission.
– Engage legal and financial advisors to ensure accuracy.
– Submit applications well in advance to allow for any necessary corrections or clarifications.

The Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP) remains the exclusive channel for submissions, and clubs are encouraged to monitor their application status regularly via the platform.

The GFA’s unwavering stance on this deadline underscores the seriousness of compliance in maintaining the integrity and professionalism of Ghanaian football. Clubs are strongly advised to take immediate action to meet the July 31, 2026 deadline and secure their place in the upcoming season.
