Mzbel has pushed back strongly against Prophet Fire Oja’s public denial of his arrest, insisting that he was in fact detained by police over remarks she considers defamatory.

Speaking in a recent interview with ZionFelix, the singer, known in private life as Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, maintained that Fire Oja’s claims do not reflect what actually transpired after she formally reported him.

She explained that the prophet was taken into custody only after he eventually honoured a police invitation linked to comments he had made about her online.

Mzbel said the issue began with what she described as derogatory statements directed at her, prompting her to lodge a complaint with law enforcement.

According to her account, once Fire Oja appeared before the police, officers informed her that he would be held for 48 hours because he initially refused to write a statement.

She further disclosed that after leaving the police station, she received a follow-up call from officers with a significant update.

Mzbel said she was told that Fire Oja later changed his stance, admitted fault, and accepted responsibility for his actions.

The singer emphasised that her decision to pursue the matter was driven by a desire to protect her reputation rather than to cause harm to the prophet.

She said her concern grew after observing a pattern in how he treats people on social media, which she believes needed to be addressed through the proper legal channels.

Mzbel also made it clear that the matter is far from over, stressing that the case is expected to proceed to court despite the developments so far.

In contrast, Fire Oja has publicly rejected claims that he was arrested or detained.

In a social media post, he dismissed the reports and said he was relaxing at home, suggesting that the narrative being shared by Mzbel does not align with his version of events.
