“TikTok Told Me I’m Not Human”: Mbavu Destroyer Speaks Out After Account Ban

Kenyan internet sensation and amateur boxer Mbavu Destroyer has opened up about the banning of his TikTok account, claiming the platform sent him an email describing him as “not a normal human being.”

Mbavu made the revelation while speaking on the Mic Cheque podcast, where he suggested that people reporting his account may have contributed to the ban. The entertainer expressed frustration over what he believes was unfair treatment on the social media platform.

“Watu wana roho mbaya, sasa mtu akinireport alafu account inabanniwa. TikTok walisema ati ‘you’re not a normal human being.’ Walituma email,” he said, suggesting that malicious reports may have played a role in the decision.

However, Mbavu did not reveal the full contents of the email or specify which TikTok community guidelines he allegedly violated. The exact reason for the ban has therefore not been independently established.

Mbavu Destroyer’s Unusual Stunts Made Him Popular

Mbavu rose to fame through entertaining online videos featuring unusual physical challenges, boxing exercises and demonstrations of strength.

His content included lifting and carrying heavy building blocks, a stunt that helped popularise his signature catchphrase, “Weka mawe.” His unconventional approach to entertainment attracted attention from social media users, making him a recognisable figure online.

Beyond his stunts, Mbavu became widely known for his rivalry with fellow amateur boxer Portifas Odipo, popularly known as Majembe.

The two boxers built anticipation for their highly publicised fight through online exchanges and challenges that attracted considerable interest among their followers.

Their rivalry eventually culminated in a boxing match held on April 4, 2026, at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi, where Majembe emerged victorious over Mbavu.

The contest further increased public interest in the two personalities, whose online rivalry had helped draw attention to their boxing careers.

Mbavu’s latest revelation has brought renewed attention to the challenges content creators can face when their social media accounts are suspended or banned.

Although he suspects that reports from other users contributed to the action against his account, he has not provided enough information to establish whether that was the actual reason.

For now, the circumstances surrounding the ban remain unclear, as TikTok has not been quoted in the report providing an independent explanation for the decision.

Mbavu’s remarks have nevertheless highlighted the importance of social media platforms to online personalities who rely on digital audiences to build their brands, promote their activities and maintain contact with fans.
