‘I know you’re bitter but nothing will happen to Bawumia’ – Titus Glover to Kennedy Agyapong

Former Member of Parliament for Tema East, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, has responded to comments made by presidential hopeful Kennedy Agyapong following his defeat in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.

Kennedy Agyapong, who contested the race alongside four other candidates, conceded defeat after the close of polls on January 31, 2026 and urged his supporters to abandon the slogan “No Ken, No Vote” ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Addressing his followers after the primaries, the former Assin Central MP called for patience and unity within the party.

“I know we have three years to go. Who knows what will happen? So, I want you to be patient. Don’t say ‘No Ken, No Vote’. That slogan should be out,” he said.

However, Titus-Glover questioned the basis of Agyapong’s assertion that “nobody knows what will happen” within the next three years, suggesting that the comment was unnecessary and open to misinterpretation.

Speaking during a panel discussion on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on February 5, 2026, Titus-Glover wondered what developments Agyapong might be hinting at, insisting that nothing untoward would happen to the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, ahead of the 2028 elections.

‘I’m scared for him’ – What Kennedy Agyapong said about Prophet Elbernard

“Why that comment? We have three years to go, let’s wait and see what happens. What is going to happen?” he questioned.

Titus-Glover acknowledged that Agyapong’s loss may have been painful but urged him to accept the outcome and remain focused.

“I will plead with my senior, I know he is bitter that he has lost the elections. It is hurting, thinking that he is going to win and it never happened. He should take some rest, reflect and put himself together,” he stated.

“We need him. He’s part of the party. We cannot throw him away. You don’t discard a golden asset to this party and this nation…nothing will happen to Dr Bawumia in the next three years , absolutely nothing. “

“…maybe today is not his time. It could be tomorrow. Nobody knows. But that particular comment he made, nobody can interpret it better than himself.”
