“Some NDC Members Were Praying for Sark to Fail in an NPP Stronghold” — Jennifer Oppong Alleges
US-based New Patriotic Party (NPP) member and political commentator Jennifer Oppong has reacted to the successful staging of Sarkodie’s Rapperholic concert, suggesting that some political party members had hoped the rapper would fail to attract a large crowd.
In a post on her official Facebook page on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Jennifer Oppong shared her thoughts on the reactions surrounding the event, which took place on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
According to her, apart from fans of Stonebwoy, whom she referred to as “Efo’s fans,” some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were also hoping Sarkodie would fail to fill a stadium with his concert.
She suggested that some of these individuals wanted the event to record a low turnout so they could use it to mock the rapper and argue that he could not fill a stadium in an area considered a stronghold of the New Patriotic Party.
Jennifer Oppong’s comments appeared to highlight what she sees as the politicisation of Sarkodie’s musical achievements, with some people allegedly eager to use the concert’s attendance to score political points.
She wrote, “Apart from Efo’s fans, some NDC members were praying for Sark to fail so they say he couldn’t even fill a stadium in an NPP stronghold. ANFA.”
Her use of the word “ANFA” and several laughing emojis suggested that she found the situation amusing, particularly the possibility that some critics had hoped for a disappointing turnout.
The Rapperholic concert is one of Sarkodie’s major musical events, attracting fans who come together to celebrate his music and career. The event also generated conversations among music lovers and social media users.
Jennifer Oppong’s post has added a political angle to the discussion, drawing attention to how the success or failure of major entertainment events can become a subject of political debate in Ghana.
