NDC Polls: Accept Results And Unite To Strengthen Party – Asiedu Nketia

According to a report by Citi FM today being Sunday, October 25, 2026, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has called on party members and aspirants participating in the party’s internal elections to accept the outcome of the polls and work together to strengthen the organisation.

He stressed the importance of unity, peaceful competition and mutual respect among members, explaining that the party’s collective interest must remain a priority regardless of individual victories or defeats in the internal electoral process.

The NDC is holding internal elections to select leaders at various levels of its organisational structure. The exercise is expected to determine the individuals who will occupy key positions and help direct the party’s activities in the coming years.

Asiedu Nketiah’s appeal comes at a time when internal elections can create disagreements among supporters of competing candidates. Although such contests provide members with an opportunity to choose their preferred leaders, he believes that the process should not become a source of lasting division within the party.

According to the message conveyed by the party chairman, candidates who emerge victorious should be prepared to work with those who lose, while unsuccessful aspirants should recognise the outcome and continue contributing to the party’s development.

He emphasised that the NDC’s strength depends largely on the commitment of its members to a common purpose. Consequently, disagreements arising from the elections should be handled through peaceful and democratic means rather than allowing personal interests to undermine the party’s cohesion.

The call for unity is particularly important as political parties depend on effective collaboration between their national executives, regional and constituency officers, grassroots organisers and other supporters to carry out their activities successfully.

Asiedu Nketiah’s remarks also serve as a reminder that internal elections are intended to strengthen democratic participation and improve party organisation, rather than create permanent divisions among members.

He is therefore urging all contestants and their supporters to place the NDC’s broader interests above personal ambitions and factional loyalties.

Accepting the results and working together after the polls, he believes, will help preserve the party’s unity and enable its leadership and grassroots members to concentrate on their shared objectives.
