Alayo Melody Reacts to Toluwanisings’ Death, Reveals Fear Among Gospel Artistes

According to a report by DAILY POST on Saturday 24 October 2026; Nigerian gospel singer Alayo Melody has disclosed that fear has gripped some gospel musicians following the death of fellow artiste Toluwanisings.

The singer made the revelation in a recent Instagram video, explaining that several colleagues had contacted him to express their anxiety over the recent deaths within the gospel music community.

Alayo said the death of Toluwanisings was particularly painful for him because they were expected to perform together at an event the following week; He added that they still had outstanding discussions before the singer’s death.

Offering his condolences to the deceased’s family and children, Alayo said the incident had affected him deeply but noted that he accepted the situation as God’s will.

He, however, urged gospel musicians not to allow fear to dominate their lives, advising them to examine their spiritual lives and reconnect with the foundations of their faith.

According to him, many artistes put themselves under unnecessary pressure because they want to satisfy everyone, even when accepting certain invitations goes against their personal convictions.

Alayo advised his colleagues to prioritise their well-being and decline engagements whenever they feel uncomfortable about attending.

He said musicians should not sacrifice their peace and rest simply to avoid disappointing event organisers or other people.

The singer also expressed concern that some gospel artistes had abandoned the religious values and practices they grew up with after gaining fame and recognition.

Speaking about his religious background, Alayo recalled his connection with the Cherubim and Seraphim and Celestial Church traditions, noting that prayer and spiritual practices were important aspects of their religious heritage.

He argued that modernisation and pride had caused some Christians to disregard the practices followed by their religious predecessors.

Alayo further criticised gospel musicians who, according to him, move from one church to another to perform without maintaining a consistent place of worship or developing a deeper understanding of the Bible.

He maintained that gospel artistes should strengthen their relationship with God instead of focusing solely on public performances and professional engagements.

To support his argument, the singer referred to the biblical account of Jesus healing a blind man with mud, stressing his belief that faith can be accompanied by spiritual practices.

He concluded by praying against premature deaths among gospel musicians and expressing hope that peace would return to the industry.

Alayo’s comments have brought renewed attention to the concerns surrounding Toluwanisings’ death, particularly his call for gospel artistes to reflect on their spiritual commitments and exercise greater care when making professional decisions.
