‘Factories Are Gone, People Are Killed Like They’re Not Human’ — Kwankwaso Blasts Tinubu Government

According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday October 24, 2026, Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, has criticised the Federal Government led by President Bola Tinubu, declaring that any administration unable to protect citizens and provide economic opportunities does not deserve to remain in power.

Kwankwaso made the remarks on Friday in Jos, Plateau State, during an event organised by the Middle Belt Youth Council for the Obi/Kwankwaso campaign team.

The former Kano State governor expressed concern over the decline of factories and industries that previously provided employment, arguing that the country lacked functioning industrial facilities capable of creating sufficient jobs for Nigerians.

“You can’t find any factory or industry that is working and can employ people in this country, including Plateau State,” he said.

“The factories we had before are gone, and nobody is paying attention to that.”

Kwankwaso also condemned the persistent killings across the country, questioning what he described as the apparent lack of concern for victims of insecurity and communal violence.

“Unfortunately, in this country, you wake up and find that 10 people, 20 people, 100 people, or even more, are killed like they’re not even human, and nobody cares,” he said.

He stressed that victims of attacks by bandits, Boko Haram insurgents and participants in tribal clashes deserved equal protection, regardless of their backgrounds.

“But these people who are killed by bandits, Boko Haram, or in tribal clashes are human beings. They are just like us,” Kwankwaso added.

He called for leadership that prioritises the safety and welfare of all Nigerians, irrespective of religion, ethnicity or geographical location.

“We need leaders who will protect the lives and property of the people of this country, and that is part of our Constitution,” he said, adding that any government unable to fulfil that responsibility was not fit to continue in office.

Kwankwaso urged Plateau residents to vote for the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket and other NDC candidates in the forthcoming election, encouraging them to defend their votes.

“You have to stand up for these votes. You’ve done it before, and I’m sure you will do it again,” he said.
