2027: ‘Tinubu Is the North’s Candidate’ — APC Chieftain Declares After Kaduna Rally
According to a report by Leadership on Saturday 24 October 2026; Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, has declared that the North-West is ready to support President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027.
Kwankwaso made the declaration after the APC’s presidential campaign rally in Kaduna, describing the massive turnout and endorsement as evidence of the region’s commitment to Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Speaking with journalists at the rally’s VIP Pavilion, he said the gathering had demonstrated the North-West’s political position ahead of the next presidential election.
He maintained that Tinubu’s re-election would strengthen national unity and promote balanced development through a fair distribution of resources among Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
Kwankwaso further rejected claims that the North’s support for Tinubu was driven purely by political calculations, insisting that the region was determined to fulfil its commitment.
He described Tinubu as a candidate capable of advancing Nigeria’s collective interests and expressed confidence that the North-West would stand by the President in 2027.
The APC chieftain also called on political stakeholders to put aside narrow interests and focus on national unity, equitable development and the country’s overall progress.
