Names and Photos of 50 Kenyans Set for Deportation from US Starting Today

Texas has the largest number of Kenyans on a list of 50 nationals the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has published as targets of its accelerated deportation drive, with two of them identified in Dallas alone.

Washington state, Minnesota and Georgia follow with the next highest concentrations.

The list, posted on the DHS website, was released as what the agency described as fulfilment of President Donald Trump’s directive to carry out mass deportations, starting with people it called “the worst of the worst.”

The 50 Kenyans come from a wider pool of about 3,000 foreign nationals facing charges across the country, and more than half of them are accused of violent offences.

Osbert Owuor is allegedly linked to a weapons offence and a firearm murder in Hawthorne, California, as well as the Tongan Crip Gang.

Jackson Gichema is reportedly accused of sexual assault in Maryland, and Newton Githiri, arrested in Union Springs, Alabama, faces a similar allegation. Gilbert Ndathi allegedly faces charges of cruelty toward elderly persons in Tennessee.

Others face allegations ranging from bank card fraud and money laundering to drug-related charges. Collins Keanche of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, is accused of cheque forgery and money laundering, while Francis Mungai of Burlington, Massachusetts, allegedly received stolen property.

Antony Karia of Seattle, Washington, faces allegations of fraud, false statements and a hit-and-run.

The list also names Moffat Muriithi, arrested in Seguin, Texas, over alleged dangerous offences, and Wilkson Gitanyu, arrested in Spokane Valley, Washington, over alleged assault.

In Dallas, Mark Gachugu was reportedly arrested for robbery, and Joseph Waweru is held over alleged drug charges.

The publication ties into an operation by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE), which it calls “ICE Blitz,” aimed at speeding up the removal of foreign nationals it considers a threat to public safety. DHS framed the list as a public accountability measure linked to that effort.
