“Governor Mosiria”: Nairobians Welcome Mosiria as He Visits the Collapsed Building in Eastleigh

Nairobi politics took an unexpected turn on Friday, October 23, 2026, as Jobless Mosiria arrived at the scene of a collapsed building in Eastleigh, attracting attention from residents.

The visit came as rescue teams continued working at the site of an 18-storey building under construction that collapsed along 9th Street in Eastleigh, Nairobi. The incident has raised concerns about building safety and the risks facing people living and working around construction sites.

According to the circulating report, Nairobians celebrated Mosiria upon his arrival at the scene. The reception has drawn attention to his relationship with residents and the growing political conversations surrounding Nairobi leadership.

Mosiria’s appearance at the site comes at a time when city leaders are under pressure to respond to emergencies and address concerns affecting residents. Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja had also visited the scene as rescue operations continued.

The building collapse has placed the city’s emergency response and construction safety under public scrutiny. Residents are waiting for information about the cause of the incident and the steps authorities will take to prevent similar tragedies.

The attention given to Mosiria during his visit could also add another dimension to Nairobi’s political discussions. Babu Owino, Sakaja and other leaders remain prominent figures in the city’s political scene, where public support and visibility often attract attention.

However, the reported reception at the collapse site does not, on its own, establish a wider political shift or confirm how residents would vote in a future election.

For now, the immediate priority remains the rescue operation, the safety of people around the site and official updates on those affected by the collapse.

As investigations and rescue efforts continue, Nairobi residents will be watching closely to see how city authorities handle the incident and address questions about construction safety.

Do you think Mosiria’s reception at the scene reflects growing public support for him in Nairobi?
