Her impressive displays earned her the tournament’s Best Opposite Hitter award and further placed her in the spotlight beyond the continent.

Online reports have since linked the 19-year-old KCB Volleyball star with a possible move abroad, a development she addressed in an exclusive interview with Mozzart Sport.

“I would not say whether there is contact or not yet, but I am definitely dreaming of playing professionally outside the country. Nonetheless, it doesn’t keep me awake at night. If it happens, I will be grateful. If it does not, that is also okay because I will keep working hard,” said Tata.

Speaking on the sidelines of the team’s courtesy visit to leading gaming firm Mozzart Bet, the official sponsor of Malkia Strikers, Tata also reflected on Kenya’s disappointing defeat to Egypt in the final.

Malkia Strikers fell to a 3-0 defeat against the North Africans, missing out on the continental title despite an impressive run to the final.

“We really wished we could win the game. We gave our best, but it was not meant to be this time. We are therefore grateful to have finished as runners-up,” she stated.

The youngster also thanked the Kenyan fans who turned up at Kasarani and rallied behind the team throughout the championship.

“We just urge our fans and Kenyans at large to keep supporting and pushing us. We felt the love throughout the African Championship,” she said.

Malkia Strikers will now shift their focus to preparations for the 2027 FIVB Women’s World Cup in the USA and Canada.
