“I’m not stepping away from the club”-Hearts MD Emunah

Accra Hearts of Oak Managing Director Julius Ben Emunah has has been sacked from his position with immediate effect, that bringing an end to his tenure at the club.

According to ghanasportspage.com, Emunah was forced to resigned since last week due to poor administrative work. however Emunah announced his resignation in a statement on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 on Facebook, saying it was made with a “heavy heart” and was not an easy one.

He expressed gratitude to the club’s Board, led by Togbe Afede XIV, for the trust and opportunity given him to serve. He also thanked the National Chapters Committee (NCC), led by Alhaji Yusif Abdulai, for its support during his time in office.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce my decision to resign from my position as Managing Director of our dear Accra Hearts of Oak

This has not been an easy decision to make. Serving the club has been a great honour and a deeply rewarding experience, and I am sincerely grateful to the Board, led by HRH Togbe Afede XIV, for the trust, confidence, and opportunity given me to serve.

To the NCC led by Alhaji Yusif Abdulai, I am extremely grateful for the support and brotherly love throughout. Although I am stepping down from my role, I am not stepping away from the club.

I remain a proud and committed supporter and will always be available to serve, assist, or support the club in whatever capacity I can. I am grateful to everyone who supported me, worked with me, encouraged me, and shared in the journey.

I leave the position with immense appreciation and the firm conviction that the club has a bright future ahead. May God bless us all, and may God continue to bless and prosper our great club”. He posted it on his personal facebook page.

Despite stepping down as Managing Director, Emunah stressed that he is not stepping away from Hearts of Oak, saying he remains a proud and committed supporter and will continue to make himself available to assist the club in whatever capacity he can.

Emunah was appointed as Hearts of Oak’s Managing Director on February 2, 2026, succeeding Dr Delali Anku-Adiamah.

His resignation comes after a short spell in charge of the club’s administration, with Hearts of Oak having started the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign strongly.
