Accra, Sept. 6, GNA – Justice Paul Baffoe Bonnie, the Chief Justice, has stated that his comments about the performance of state institutions were made in good faith.
“The observations were made in good faith and were not intended to serve a purpose inimical to judicial independence,” he said.
A release issued by Mr Musah Ahmed, Judicial Secretary, and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Friday, said Justice Baffoe Bonnie had taken note of the mixed public reaction to some observations he made on the performance of State-owned entities during an outreach engagement.
This follows public reactions after the Chief CJ’s comments during a working visit to the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
The visit, the organisers say, forms part of efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration and deepen engagement between the Judiciary and public institutions.
“The Chief Justice remains committed to upholding the integrity and independence of the Judiciary, and the promotion of justice and equality before the law,” the release said.
