Asante Kotoko has confirmed the departure of 14 first-team players ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season as part of the club’s restructuring under new technical director Stanley Menzo.
The Porcupine Warriors said the exit process followed an assessment of the squad that completed the 2025/26 campaign, with some players leaving after their contracts expired while others reached mutual agreements with the club to terminate their deals.
Goalkeeper Mohammed Camara, centre-backs Samba O’Neil and Henry Ansu, midfielder Baba Yahaya, and forwards Peter Amidu Acquah and Albert Amoah have all left the club following the expiration of their contracts.
Kotoko also confirmed that goalkeeper Benjamin Twum, centre-back Zackaria Fuseini, left-back Francis Acquah, midfielder Prince Badu and forwards Isaac Mintah, Kwame Opoku, Johnson Owusu and Elvis Kyei Baffour have become free agents after reaching mutual agreements with the club.
The departures form part of the changes being implemented following the arrival of the club’s new technical direction, led by Menzo.
Kotoko said the decisions were reached amicably as the club reshapes its squad ahead of the new league campaign.
The club thanked all 14 players for their contributions during their time at Asante Kotoko and wished them well in their future careers.
Kotoko will travel to Berekum to face the newly promoted side, Debibi United, in their opening GPL game of the season on Sunday, September 6.
