Atlas 777 Media has entered Nigeria’s long-form video entertainment market with Dumb It Down: The Clarity Lab, an eight-episode show hosted by filmmaker, creative producer and development executive Abimbola Craig.
The show, which premiered on YouTube and Spotify on August 28, 2026, is built around conversations with professionals across law, fintech, real estate, events, fashion, film and food, translating complex industry knowledge into accessible conversations for a general audience.
According to the production company, the format taps into the growing popularity of long-form, video-led conversations, positioning expert knowledge between entertainment and education.
Craig, whose work spans filmmaking, content strategy and original intellectual property development, previously conceptualised BluuvTV, FirstBank’s digital content platform, in 2022. She also led the platform’s first original production.
Speaking on the concept, Craig said the show was created to explore the experiences and thinking behind the work of people shaping some of Nigeria’s industries.
“What drew me to Dumb It Down was the opportunity to have thoughtful, meaningful conversations with the people building and shaping some of Nigeria’s most interesting industries. I wanted us to go beyond the job titles and success stories, to understand their journeys, the decisions they made, the challenges they faced and the thinking behind what they’ve built.
“Most importantly, I want viewers, especially younger people, to see that these paths are not as distant or unattainable as they may seem. There’s a lot we can learn from the people doing remarkable things around us, and Dumb It Down is about making those lessons accessible, relatable and real,” she said.
The debut season features Bukola Bankole, partner at TNP, where she leads the firm’s Private Equity and Corporate Finance practice; Ife Durosinmi-Etti, founder and CEO of Herconomy; Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, founder and CEO of Zapphaire Events; Dimeji Timothy, country manager at InDrive Nigeria; Toyosi Adeyemo, founder of The Plush Apartments and The Plush Real Estate; StyleInfidel (Tosin Ogundadegbe), fashion stylist and creative consultant; Ibidunni Damilola, filmmaker and storyteller; and Bukie Akinmade, food content creator and founder of TheKitchenMuse.
Eseoghene Oyibo, partner at Atlas777Media Ltd., said the show was designed to make complex ideas easier to understand without stripping them of their depth.
“There are so many industries and ideas that shape everyday life, yet we rarely get to understand what really happens behind the scenes. Dumb It Down was created to change that.
“We want to take the things that seem complicated from the outside, ask the questions people are often too afraid or too busy to ask, and have honest conversations with the people who actually know how these worlds work.
“The goal isn’t to dumb anything down, it’s to make knowledge clearer, more relatable and accessible, while still respecting the complexity behind it.”
New episodes of Dumb It Down: The Clarity Lab are scheduled to stream on YouTube and Spotify every Friday from 6:00 p.m.
Craig is known for her role as “Tiwalade” in the NdaniTV series, Skinny Girl in Transit, while her production credits include Glamour Girls, The Real Housewives of Lagos, Sugar Rush and A Heart on the Line.
Her career has also covered creative development, content strategy and original IP development, including her work on BluuvTV.
The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has announced entriesfor the Chinua Achebe Prize for Literature 2026, the yearly prize recognising excellence and outstanding achievement in Nigerian fiction.
Only recently, United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) committed ₦10 million towards prize money and administrative costs for 2026–2030.
Nigerian writers at home and abroad are invited to submit published novels for consideration. Works must have been published in 2025 or 2026. Manuscripts are not eligible. There is no entry fee.
Authors or publishers must submit: Ten copies of the published novel; Proof of Nigerian citizenship; A covering letter stating the prize being entered for; Author’s email address, telephone number and postal address; Publisher’s details, publication year and ISBN.
An author may submit only one title. Works previously entered for the prize are not eligible. Entries must be original and must comply with Nigerian copyright laws. Authors and publishers are responsible for any copyright infringement.
Entries will be assessed on literary quality, originality, creativity, language, narrative craft, characterisation and thematic depth.
The prize is not open to members of ANA’s Board of Trustees (BOT), National Executive Council (NEC), the judging panel, United Nigeria Airlines staff, or their immediate family members.
Judges must disclose and recuse themselves from any entry where there is a conflict of interest, including where they have edited, published or written supporting material for the work.
ANA reserves the right to verify information supplied and disqualify entries that do not meet the requirements. Submitted copies will not be returned.
The winner will receive ₦1,000,000 and a plaque/certificate.
Where there is no deserving entry, or no entry at all, the prize may be deferred. Where there is only one entry, it may be awarded if the judges consider it deserving. The decision of the judges is final.
Submission deadline is September 15, 2026, while shortlist is October 15, 2026.
Winner will be announced at the awards dinner during the ANA International Annual Convention, October 29 – November 1, 2026.
Meanwhile, Dr. Awele Ilusanmi and FANA have supported the 2025 prize winner with N150,000.
The association described the gesture as a significant demonstration of Ilusanmi’s commitment to the promotion of literary excellence and the development of Nigerian writers.
ANA noted that her intervention had added further value to the recognition of the 2025 winner and underscored the importance of encouraging writers who continue to contribute to the growth of Nigerian literature.
In a letter of appreciation jointly signed by ANA President, Dr. Usman Oladipo-Akanbi, and Acting General Secretary, Wole Adedoyin, the association expressed profound gratitude to Ilusanmi for her generosity and described her gesture as worthy of commendation.
ANA further stated that her example would inspire individuals and organisations to continue supporting literary excellence and the development of the Nigerian literary community.
