The This Is Ghana Exhibition may have ended, but the spotlight on participating businesses is set to continue.
Head of Events and Partnerships for Channel One TV and Citi FM, Frema Adunyame, says businesses that participated in the 2026 exhibition will continue to receive exposure across the media house’s television, radio and digital platforms beyond the two-day event.
She said the initiative forms part of the media organisation’s broader effort to support indigenous and homegrown businesses by using its platforms to sustain visibility for local enterprises.
Speaking after the close of the exhibition on Sunday, August 30, Ms Adunyame said the private sector must play a stronger role in supporting local businesses alongside government efforts.
“We can only grow and get better because this is a platform that is given to indigenous homegrown companies. We call on the government a lot of times to do so much, but the government cannot do it alone. The private sector should get involved as well.”
According to her, the media house sees the promotion of local businesses as part of its responsibility to help entrepreneurs gain visibility and draw attention to solutions being developed in Ghana.
She said the platforms of Citi FM and Channel One TV would also be used to demonstrate that Ghanaian businesses have the capacity to develop products and solutions that can serve the local market and compete internationally.
“We want to let Ghanaians know that we have the solutions, we have what it takes to promote our businesses and also market Ghana to the entire world.”
Ms Adunyame stressed that participation in the exhibition was therefore not the end of the relationship between the media house and the businesses.
“Although you paid for just the exhibition for two days, as a media house, we have television, we have radio and we have an amazing presence online. We are going to be pushing them as well to the next edition.”
She also expressed confidence that future editions of This Is Ghana would become larger and create space for more businesses.
“In subsequent years, we can only grow, make it bigger, make it better, and also give bigger platforms to other businesses who are not able to join us this year.”
The 2026 This Is Ghana Exhibition, held from Saturday, August 29 to Sunday, August 30 at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra, brought together more than 100 vendors and exhibitors, largely made up of SMEs and other private-sector businesses.
The exhibitors showcased a wide range of locally made products, including rice, cosmetics, grills, clothing, jewellery and other Ghanaian-manufactured goods.
The exhibition attracted thousands of patrons who interacted with businesses, sampled products and made purchases, with several visitors calling for the initiative to be sustained.
The event was powered by Citi FM and Channel One TV and sponsored by Ecobank, MTN, GIPA and the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA).
With the exhibition grounds now quiet, the organisers say the work of promoting the businesses does not have to stop there.
For the participating enterprises, the exhibition may have lasted two days, but the opportunity to remain in the spotlight is only beginning.
